In today’s world of competition, every youth aspires to be ahead of others. But, Wait! What if you fall behind others just because of your lack of proficiency in English?

English is crucial in all spheres of life.  whether it is your career, personal or professional life, English opens a wide range of opportunities. It also boosts your confidence level. Imagine, being in a group discussion of company recruitment and you’re fluent in English. Yes! You’ll be ahead of others in seizing that opportunity and impressing the Recruiters and HR.

Here are some pointers to help you speak more effectively:

1.>   Reading Books and Novels: The best and easiest way to enhance your English is through reading. Reading also helps you to be good at grammar and learn new words. Make sure while reading, you read aloud rather than mentally.

2.>   Listening: Hearing touches you more. Try listening to English music or watching any English- language web series/ tv show/ video. In the beginning, you can go with subtitles, and eventually, after some time, you won’t need them.

3.>   Learning new words: Make a habit of learning a few new words, like 2-3 words in a week and try using them in your sentences. This will tip will take you to an advanced level but it is best to use it after you have mastered the fundamentals of speaking English.

4.>   Practicing: There is a common quote saying “Practice makes a man perfect”. You need to practice speaking in English. Don’t feel guilty if you make mistakes. But be sure to fix those mistakes. Start by including simple and short sentences like “I was about to do this”, “It is my pleasure to be with you.”, etc.

5.>   Talk to Alexa/ Google Assistant: Ok, this may sound a bit weird but it is a very efficient way if you cannot find someone around you to practice. Also, it improves enunciation.

6.>   Thinking: It is often said that when you think in English, you Speak in English more fluently. Your thoughts and mouth should be in sync while you speak, for flawless fluency. Start by mentally translating some phrases or words into English.

NOTE: You will only benefit from these suggestions if you use them consistently. But once you do it right, you'll be able to see the outcomes for yourself.
