Software helpful for Mechanical Engineering Students | Which software is important for mechanical engineering ?

Mechanical Engineering

Among the most famous core engineering disciplines, Mechanical Engineering one covering broad concepts like analysis, designing, testing, and manufacturing of mechanical systems.

In the old days, mechanical engineers often used hit-and-miss methods to design and assemble machines. They had to work & experiment on raw materials for just a simple prototype, resulting in a lot of labor, more money and time consumption, and no guarantee of success.

With today’s technology and virtualization, engineers need not worry much about this. It is much easier to deal with works such as drafting, 2D and 3D design, analysis, and virtual field tests thanks to the software! Isn’t it interesting that a mechanical engineer can virtually design his/her machines without actually manufacturing them?

So, to help a mechanical engineering student improve his or her skills, below is a list of the most popular software utilized in the profession.

1.> AutoCAD

Basic computer-aided design is frequently done using AutoCAD, which was developed and promoted by AUTODESK. Millions of people consider it one of the most well-known applications for exact 2-D drafting of machines (or parts of machines). Through line diagrams, it makes it easier for the user to create the machine's fundamental shape. Features for 3-D modeling and drafting are also included in the updated versions.

2.> SOLIDWORKS

It is another software tool used to build parts and models from the scratch. It is suitable for a variety of tasks such as 2-D & 3-D designing, sheet metal work, surface modeling, and pipe structures. It primarily consists of 3 options: part modeling, assembly & drafting. Furthermore, the software enables 3-D rendering and motion study.

3.>CATIA

An acronym of Computer Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application, it offers its users a complete package of CAD( Computer Aided Designing), CAE( Computer Aided Engineering), and CAM( Computer Aided Manufacture). It resembles SOLIDWORKS. But it offers certain additional features like Analysis ( structural analysis, Load analysis, Impact analysis, etc.). It goes far beyond CAD.

4.> PTC Creo

PTC Creo is a lighter and more stable software widely used in the case of projects involving large assemblies. Because of its flexibility, it can be employed for complex jobs. It supports finite element analysis, modeling, technical representations, and visualizations.

5.>Ansys

Ansys is a complete software suite that allows users to digitally create and work in a variety of engineering-related professions. It does all forms of operations but is primarily used for analysis. Compared to most other tools, it offers a far wider range of analysis options.

In addition to these softwares, a mechanical engineer can benefit from a variety of other softwares. Software expertise, together with fieldwork expertise, enables engineers to become experts in their domain.

Is Large Population a Problem? | is large population an asset or liability ?

The number of people living on a particular place is called it's population and there are around 8 billion people living on the earth out which 16%  population lives in India. But, Is our large population is a problem for us, yes it is but not always there are some advantages as well as disadvantages of our large population .  Advantages of our large population 1.We have a large human capital.  Large population has advantage of having a large number of working people which helps it to develop in every field rapidly the need of calling people from outside nils down.  2.Large economy.  A large skilled and educated population helps in Rapid growth of country's economy they work in different field and every sector of economy booms and grows faster which leads to higher economic growth of the country.  3.Power of being a big market place.  Large population also work as a large number of consumers which means it as a larger number of customer, a country with...

Interview with CAT 2022 Topper from CSE

Hello EVERYONE, we are here again but this time with a written interview with Ms. Priyanshi Dalke ma'am. She is from Computer Science Engineering batch 2021 then she worked at TCS for 2 years and currently pursuing MBA from IIM Raipur.  Interviewer:-"When should we start to prepare for CAT?" She:- "Start to prepare for CAT atleast 6 months before the exam (which is generally in November). Many people need to give the exam atleast 2 times before they get it right. So start right away if you want to try for MBA. You might change your mind mid-way, but it is better to start now and change later." Interviewer:- "From which topics or subject should we begin our preparation and why?" She:- "Start with the basics of all topics - Quant, LRDI and VARC. VARC can generally be developed by maintaining a reading habit. But Quant and DILR require a lot of practice. Interviewer:-"How could we manage our preparation with college things like attendance and ...
